What we’re listening to this week!

Eloise

Eloise is a 23 year old singer songwriter from London who spent some of her time growing up in rural France. She began by posting covers on youtube and now has an impressive collection of her own songs. I was lucky enough to see her perform live and it was beautiful. She has music for every mood and will certainly help you through a heartbreak! My top picks from Eloise are Drunk on a flight, Subside, and Hungover.

Cleo sol

Cleo sol is a 32 year old singer from Ladbroke grove. She has two studio albums, Rose in the dark (2020) and Mother (2021). Her music takes inspiration from Soul, Jazz and RnB and is the perfect remedy after a long day. My top picks from Cleo Sol are, Why don’t you, sunshine, and shine.

Arlo Parks

Arlo Parks is a beautifully soothing singer song writer, originally from West London. Her debut album, ‘Collapsed in Sunbeams, which she released in 2021 peaked at number three on the UK Albums Chart. It earned her nominations for Album of the Year, Best New Artist and Best British Female Solo Artist at the 2021 Brit Awards. It then went on to win the 2021 Hyundai Mercury Prize for Best Album. She has recently released her new album ‘The Soft Machine’ which again highlights her originality and her ability to mix indie pop, indie folk and R&B in a more mainstream way. Arlo Parks, a perfect listen to getting up and at it in the morning whilst being sensitive to the soul. My top picks are, Too good, Blades and Eugene.

Keyah blu

Keyah from south east stepped into music at 20. She is said to be influenced by Noname, Erykah Badu, Tirzah and Frank Ocean.  Keyahs’ eclectic sound is where soul meets UK rap and physcdellic beats. An artist who’s music I often enjoy listening to while walking through south in the summer. my top picks from Keyah blu this week are Til bliss, South and her newest single Wedding cake

JGrrey

JGrrey from Lambeth is a funk and Neo soul singer. In 2017 her debut singles ‘Ready 2 die’ and ‘Don’t fade’ took off which she created in her own home studio. Her lyrics are said to connect with people because of her vulnerability and she says herself she’s very mood driven, this is what makes her music so diverse in feeling. My top picks for this week are Growing , For keeps and Theirs 13
